The Weatherman's Picnic
A human with the firm intention
Of going to the weatherman's convention
Was struck by flu and thus prevented
From going there as he intended.
He longed so very much to go,
They always had a super show.
The forecast for this first of May
Was for another dry and sunny day.
Therefor this year, just for a lark,
They'd have a picnic in the park
With a Hawaiian umu piglet roast,
Which he would miss the most.
But then he thought that at the least
He could attend the pig roast feast.
And so he had high expectation,
Maybe, by taking extra medication
He would be able to sneak out
For two, three hours thereabout,
To join and have some picnic fun,
Eat roast, drink beer, enjoy the sun.
That night he had a good night's rest.
When he got up, was dressed,
He looked out through the window pane:
Outside was rain, rain, rain.
