The Thief
A thief went through a parking lot
Adjacent to a busy shopping mall
To see if he was lucky and could spot
Something to steal, most anything at all.
Detective Smith on rounds saw from afar
The thief's activity and grew suspicious
Just as the scoundrel from an unlocked car
Removed a stereo, a golfclub, and some dishes.
Detective Smith immediately gave chase.
The scoundrel ran. However, he was bested.
It's true, he could have won this race
Had he not slipped and fell. He was arrested.
And here is moral number one
He should have known: Thou shalt not steal.
And number two: When you must run
Don't step on a banana peel.
