Let the author recite

The Successful Man

A human, born a baby, grew.
And as his life took shape and form
It was no secret, one could see
This man would not go past the norm.

He did accept the simple fact that he
Led just an average and ordinary life.
He also knew he never would be free
From working daily eight to five.

The change came after he got wed.
Promotions started coming in.
Advancements had been stuck on red;
But now his traffic light was green.

He counted his achievements happily
When he retired at the age of sixty-five.
He'd been ambitious, so thought he;
But actually it was his ever-nagging wife.
