The Necktie
A human who was colorblind
Had bought himself a brand new tie,
The very best that he could find.
With it he was a dapper looking guy.
He'd told the salesman when he bought it
To be dead sure it fit in color and in hue.
Since he was colorblind he wanted it to fit
In with his shirt, which was a subdued blue.
Selecting the right color made him proud
Because he knew, the last he bought, it stank.
Its color had been yellow and quite loud;
Most inappropriate for someone in a bank.
He wore the new one to his office the next day
Prepared for everybody's positive reaction.
That didn't happen, what he got to his dismay
Was not approving smiles for his selection.
The ladies looked and snick' ring turned away,
The guys just laughed; he thought that mean.
The tie was not what made them smile today
It was his socks, one red, one green.
