THE MODERN JUSTICE
A human who had raped and killed
Was sentenced that he die,
Atonement for the blood he spilled.
He had admitted it, he didn't even lie.
Then someone did miss-spell his name,
Which was a reason for appeal
Through many courts, until it came
Right to the top, to Judge O'Neal
Who sent it to the lower court again.
The killer meanwhile watched TV,
Was served his meals, and then
Did legal research in the library.
The case went on and on and on
While back and forth went the debate.
The homeless hungered, not the con,
Three meals a day he had, gained weight.
Until one morn the warden on his round
He saw the killer in his cage
Was dead, sprawled on the ground.
The cause of death: Old age.
