The Insight
A human, looking at his life,
The ups, the downs, the happiness, the strife,
Was counting all the blessings he had earned,
And, too, the many lessons he had learned.
The Army changed the boy into a man.
And after that the real life began.
At college there was much to learn
What's needed for a wage to earn.
He got a job, worked hard and long each day
To earn respect and trust, - and pay.
A little later on he took himself a wife
And soon there was a family of five.
One day he told his friend: "I fear
I must be getting dumber every year
Because when I was playing basketball
At seventeen - I then already knew it all."
