The Horses
A human loved to bet
On football, boxing, and of course
He had his very special pet
He loved to bet the horse.
This human often you could find
Out on the bleachers at the track
With many others of his kind
To look at horses and inspect
Them closely for a sure shot bet
Among the horses soon to run.
Sometimes he lost, but no regret,
Just betting was his kind of fun.
There was a horse named Pontiac.
About this horse he had a hunch.
He put some money on this nag,
And not just pennies, but a bunch.
When the results were in
His horse was not exactly first,
Although it would have been
